CWS CEM15 is a two-component acrylic modified cementitious coating.
CEM15 is composed of specially selected cements, silica sand-reactive fillers supplied in powder form as well as a liquid component of blended acrylic co-polymers and wetting agents.
CEM15 is mixed on-site to form the ideal product to waterproof and resurface concrete, masonry and most other construction materials.
It has excellent wear characteristics, provides excellent adhesion and bonds to both porous and non-porous surfaces, making it perfect for a wide range of applications.
With a 1mm coating, the CEM15 provides an anti-carbonation cover equivalent to over 80cm of concrete and can withstand hydrostatic pressure of up to 7 bars.
It has resistance to corrosive chemicals such as gasoline, diesel oil, sodium hydroxide, calcium chloride and treated sewage as well as mild acids.
CEM15 has high resistance to carbon dioxide and chloride ion diffusion.
It is non-toxic and suitable for potable water. It also allows outgassing, thus allowing the substrate to breath. Although it can be used in a variety of application such as balconies and water tanks, CEM15 is particularly suited to bathrooms and toilet areas. During construction of a high-rise building, generally speaking CWS ADMIX is used in below-ground areas such as foundations and CEM15 is used above ground for podiums, landscaped areas and rooftops. However, CEM15 provides an excellent solution to small areas such as bathrooms and toilets: it has straightforward application, many excellent benefits and is very economical.
