Bridge decks are subjected to harsh conditions, such as high temperatures and thermal stress from exposure to the sun, and rain carrying soluble chlorides and contaminants which are destructive to the rebar. It is for this reason that the protection of the bridgeck is critically important – not only to waterproof the structure, but mostly to protect it from corrosion.

Protecting bridges from corrosion adds massively to their useful lifespan and ultimately saves authorities lots of money that would otherwise be incurred on on-going maintenance. 

CWS100 is proven to withstand thermal stress and readily accepts hot asphalt of more than 160 degrees applied directly on CWS100 treated concrete, without the need for a protective screed.

CWS100 was used for the protection of the bridge deck of the Free Bridge A in Africa – one of two identical rail bridges today protected with CWS100. 

The Roads Authorities of Canada have also approved the use of CWS100 for bridge deck waterproofing protection.
