CWS Admix is next generation integral waterproofing. It is a top class waterproofing admixture particularly suitable for waterproofing below ground structures as well as water tanks. Thus it is perfect for basement waterproofing.

Based on more than 42 years of proven crystalline technology, CWS Admix greatly improves on the initial concept of crystalline growth and both waterproofs and protects concrete, potentially doubling it’s service life.

 CWS Admix Dosing

CWS Admix may be added to the concrete either at the batching plant or added to the mixer at the job site. It is preferable that CWS Admix is added to the dry mix to ensure even distribution prior to the addition of water. However in big cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, traffic can delay concrete trucks getting to the site so the ability to also add the product at site is very advantageous for integral waterproofing.

If CWS Admix is added after the addition of water, mixing must continue for a further 10 minutes prior to placement of the mix.

Crystalline waterproofing technology is based on the hydrophilic properties of materials, which results in trustworthy and problem-free protection of concrete structures, as it becomes completely integrated within the concrete matrix.

Benefits

Speeds up construction times because it is usually added to the concrete at the time of pouring.  Hence it saves delays that occur with membranes waiting for the concrete to cure prior to application of the membrane.

Because it is normally added to the concrete at the batch plant it requires no manual on-site labour.

Remains reactive in the concrete for the life of the structure and never needs replacing.

Unlike membranes – integral cannot be punctured, debond or tear.  Nor can it be damaged by trades during application.

Will seal current and future static cracks in the concrete. This is extremely important when comparing it to other forms of integral such as “pore blockers”.

Has testing to prove it resists hydrostatic pressure to 14 bars of pressure equivalent to a 40 story building. This is especially beneficial in places like Jakarta that have a very high water table.

Because it is within the concrete, it is equally effective on the positive and negative side.

Allows building right to the edge of the construction site without having to allow a perimeter for outside application to the building, thus maximising the building space and the client’s investment.

Cannot be damaged during backfilling operations.  Often during backfilling membranes are damaged and will never work effectively but this cannot happen with integral.

Can be applied to complex shapes which are difficult for membranes to cover.

Most crystalline products are very friendly to the environment. They contain no VOCs (volatile organic chemicals) and are safe with potable water.  For example CWS Admix has NSF 61 approval for drinking water in the United States which is regarded as the world standard in drinking water.
